i just had fun in general. also it didnt seem all that differant than past years... liek i wasnt going "wow, this new luke is way less fun to play against than agents in 07 or ls senate in 07...or wookies in 08 etc"

Matter of fact I will say that I think the 2009 worlds meta was better than the 2008 worlds meta (dbo rops mirror matches? wookie swarms? clone whap beatdowns?) Like look at Gemme and Aaron's games... you had like every main in the game fighting each other for control of the audience chamber....

I am going to agree with Justin on this one. I went 4-4 and had a pretty fun time. I just had an unlucky matchup all day. I knew my DS would beat WYS, be very close against Profit, and probably lose to TRM. So of course I play TRM 3 times.

But I certainly think the meta has shaken itself out since then, and with a few new V cards being released before the MPC, I'm also confident that more deck choices will become viable.

I look forward to seeing a good turnout at the MPC(and if Brian Fred isnt there I will be shocked.)

My bad, I missed the post where the PC apologized for the disaster that was worlds.

My bad, I didn't realize that you meant that worlds itself was one of the top 2 mistakes in swccg history. I would have thought that anyone seriously ranking these things would have put it far behind decipher's multiple worlds disasters (at least 3... operatives, mass dqs, canceling worlds).

Since Throdo apparently won't drop it: The ONLY thing the PC apologized for is botching the PDFs and not having them ready on time.

They said, yeah, we rushed things and should have had the release be smoother, sorry.

BFred's point is pretty valid.

but would scott saying mea culpa really accomplish anything? i'm sure scott would have no qualms apologizing if he felt it would be in the best interest of swccg. the problem with a scott apology though is that it lets certain other prominant forces behind the revolution skate by without so much as a 'my bad'. and really it's those other forces that i think we'd all rather see acknowledge that mistakes were made, and that they are learning from those mistakes so that they never happen again

[mod edit - no fight club talk]

But if you're expecting people like me to apologize for things they didn't decide or didn't do, then it's not going to happen. The things I pushed for that I will not apologize for:

[mod edit - no fight club talk]

What is there to apologize for exactly? The mess of a meta? Okay fine, I'll take some of that blame. For that, I sincerely apologize. I let some things go too far, but I'm doing what I can through the CBT to make up for it. But many of the changes were good for long term. I just think the overall size of it was a mess, and many of the changes were unnecessary, and that's why everyone is still angry about it.

no. the changes of adds 4 to power to adds 3 to power was dumb, but it wasn't what unbalanced the game.

scott may have been responsible for that, but that isn't what people are most upset about.

Well, i said probably lose to TRM. Barnes beat me with TRM by 21, I beat your TRM by like 9-10, then lost to another TRM by like 10, and then lost to Baroni's Profit by 6 or 7. All very close games, which is what I expected, but I did have a deck flaw from lack of playtesting that really exposed itself quickly. That is a trend i intend to correct in 2010.( I LOVE THIS HOLOTABLE THING)

if this was a thread in general-swccg i'd give it 6 hours before it'd get locked. but since we're in the mpc forum which apparently has no modz, no rules i think we'll see a bunch of posts renditioned to kurgblachistan but the thread says open

Oh quit getting your panties in a bundle, it's the same stuff I've posted a dozen times before in the past year, the same positions I've held before on certain erratas, just worded them in terms of what I stood for in development instead of my personal opinion, so Mark mod edited me as "breaking fight club." You would've read it and gone "Oh yeah, that's nothing new" and moved on with your life. So quit freaking out.

Let me summarize for all of you again, worded in my personal opinion (This is effectively the content of my old post, just reworded so it won't get mod edited):
Before the Revolution, stuff I wanted changed:

I wanted erratas to the following, and even played them all on the Watch List of the old CBT: Wookiees, Chancellors Office, TOD V, IR V.

In terms of the anti maintenance effects, I'm glad they got countered, but personally I wish the PC had just errata'd the cards to the virtual versions (including EPP Maul) and made EPP Maul V not suck as bad (without the second swing still) and not made the counters.

Now was that so bad?

I guess it was more fun when people thought there was mystery to it and were calling for me to be banned.

i think listing designers and developers publicly is a fantastic idea, honestly.

Yeah, I'm really not sure why this is such a huge deal for people not to know who does what...I mean, if you look at any real life organization, you can probably find a list of its members, executive board, their positions, etc...right? So why is it a big deal to keep this stuff so secretive?

One of the things that I've tried to push lately is for D&D to be open with the players about as much as they can be. Things like guidelines, policies and procedures, job positions/descriptions, etc. should be public knowledge in my opinion.
